Jean-Michel Jarre To Play In Houston For Another Rendez-vous With The Space City

Jean-Michel Jarre, one of the most iconic of the pioneers of Electronic Music, will be returning to Houston April 10th, 2018, for another "Rendez-vous" with the Space City. Last time Jarre played here, it marked a very special time as it not only coincided with the release of Jarre's 8th studio album "Rendez-Vous", but also celebrated the 150th anniversary of Texas; though unfortunately, it also would mark a sad time as well.

Having been at the time the largest attended concert in history, with about a million and a half spectators, the immense laser lightshow against the backdrop of the city's skyline to the incredible music of Jean-Michel Jarre made for a one of a kind night. However, the show was also supposed to feature a Saxophone piece played from space by NASA astronaut Ron McNair, along with video footage of the performance, though unfortunately McNair lost his life along with 6 others during the explosion of the Challenger Shuttle two and a half months earlier on January 28, 1986. The last track on the album, "Dernier Rendez-vous (Ron's Piece)" was dedicated to Ron's life, not to mention the night, which Jarre at first had wanted to cancel due to the accident, also paid tribute to honor the lives lost on that fateful day.

After setting off on a world tour for his album series "Electronica"; which feature collaborations with artists like Pet Shop Boys, Armin van Buuren, Vince Clark, and Tangerine Dream, the artist once again returns to Houston to perform and dazzle with his unique music and approach to visual entertainment with another Rendez-vous at the Smart Center on April 10th. A night not to be missed! Get your tickets now!
